Cleaning checklist in Enfield – room-by-room tasks explained

Cleaning Checklist in Enfield: What Gets Cleaned, Room by Room

This cleaning checklist in Enfield shows what our cleaners actually do on a regular visit, a deep clean and an end-of-tenancy clean. Use it to choose the right kind of clean, plan your booking and avoid paying for work you don’t need. Every job starts from a checklist like this, and we adjust it to your property before we quote.

We clean homes, rentals and workplaces across EN postcodes, from Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park to Enfield Lock, Cheshunt, Potters Bar and Barnet. The tasks below are a starting point. Your agreed list is the one we work to.

Which Clean Do You Actually Need?

Most people book the wrong clean because the names sound similar. Here’s the short version.

Type of cleanBest forWhat it focuses on
Regular cleanKeeping a lived-in home under controlSurfaces, floors, kitchen and bathroom upkeep, to an agreed priorities list
Deep cleanCatching up after months of busy life, before guests, or once a seasonBuild-up: grease, limescale, skirting boards, inside cupboards, behind and under things
End of tenancy cleanMoving out before an inventory checkAn empty property cleaned room by room, matched to the agent’s or inventory’s requirements
Move-in cleanStarting fresh before your boxes arriveEmpty cupboards, wardrobes, bathrooms and floors, so you can unpack onto clean surfaces

If your home hasn’t had a proper clean in a while, start with a deep clean and then move to regular visits. Regular visits only keep a clean home clean. They can’t remove six months of limescale in a two-hour slot.

What’s Included in a Regular Clean

Our regular cleaning visits follow a priorities list we agree with you. Time is limited, so we put the effort where it matters most to your household. A typical list looks like this.

Kitchen

  • Wipe worktops, splashbacks and the outside of cupboard doors
  • Clean the hob surface and wipe the outside of the oven, fridge and microwave
  • Clean and shine the sink and taps
  • Empty the bins and wipe the lids
  • Vacuum and mop the floor

Bathrooms and toilets

  • Clean the toilet inside and out, including the base and behind the seat hinges
  • Clean the bath, shower tray, basin and taps
  • Wipe the shower screen and tiles within reach
  • Polish mirrors
  • Mop the floor

Bedrooms and living areas

  • Dust reachable surfaces, shelves, skirting tops and window sills
  • Make beds or change linen if you leave fresh sheets out
  • Tidy and straighten (we won’t sort personal paperwork or clear clutter we can’t see the home for)
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, mop hard floors

Hallways and stairs

  • Vacuum stairs and landings
  • Wipe banisters, light switches and door handles
  • Clear fingerprints from internal door glass

On every visit we can’t do every task to deep-clean standard. That’s normal. We rotate extras, such as wiping kitchen cupboard fronts fully one week and the skirting boards the next, so the whole home gets attention over a month.

Detailed Deep Cleaning Tasks, Room by Room

A deep clean goes after the build-up that daily life leaves behind. This is our deep cleaning checklist in Enfield homes, and it’s where the hours go.

Kitchen deep clean

  • Degrease the extractor hood and wash the metal filters
  • Clean inside cupboards and drawers (they need to be empty, or at least cleared enough to reach the back)
  • Wipe cupboard doors, handles and the tops of wall units, where grease and dust bond into a sticky film
  • Descale the kettle exterior, tap bases and sink plughole
  • Clean inside the microwave and fridge (we’ll ask you to empty the fridge first)
  • Pull out freestanding appliances where it’s safe to do so, and clean the floor and sides behind them
  • Scrub grout lines and hand-wash the floor edges

Bathroom deep clean

  • Remove limescale from shower screens, taps, heads and tiles. Hard water across much of the EN area means build-up comes back fast, so this takes time.
  • Scrub grout and clean silicone edges (mould staining in silicone often can’t be fully removed, and resealing is a separate trade job)
  • Clean behind and around the toilet base and pipework
  • Wipe extractor fan covers, radiators and towel rails
  • Clean inside bathroom cabinets

Bedrooms and living areas

  • Dust skirting boards, door frames, picture rails and the tops of wardrobes within safe reach
  • Clean inside wardrobes and drawers if empty
  • Vacuum under beds and sofas where they can be moved
  • Wipe radiators, light switches and sockets
  • Clean the inside of windows and sills, including the tracks on sliding doors

Hallways, stairs and entrances

  • Dust banister spindles one by one
  • Clean front door glass and the inside of the letterbox surround
  • Wipe skirting boards along the full stair run

End of Tenancy Cleaning Standards: What Agents Look At

For an end of tenancy checklist in Enfield, we work from your inventory or the agent’s cleaning requirements wherever you can share them. Agents and inventory clerks tend to check the same places, so we treat these as priorities on every end of tenancy clean.

  • Oven, hob and extractor. The most common reason a clean is marked down. Oven interiors are quoted as an extra, and for move-outs we strongly recommend including it.
  • Kitchen cupboards and drawers. Inside, outside and on top, with crumbs cleared from the runners.
  • Fridge and freezer. Emptied, defrosted beforehand where needed, cleaned and left with the door ajar if the agent asks.
  • Limescale. Taps, shower screens, toilet bowls and tiles.
  • Skirting boards, doors and frames. Dust and scuff marks are easy to spot in an empty room.
  • Windows and sills inside. External windows are a separate job.
  • Floors. Vacuumed and mopped throughout. Carpets that need extraction cleaning are quoted separately, and we’ll tell you if your tenancy agreement mentions professional carpet cleaning.

A clean can’t fix wear and tear, burns, chipped worktops or damage, and no cleaner can promise your deposit back. What we can do is clean the property thoroughly to the agreed list, so the condition at checkout reflects how well you looked after the place.

Move In Checklist for Enfield Homes

A move-in clean is far easier than one done later around furniture and boxes. Before you unpack, we’ll focus on:

  • Inside every kitchen cupboard, drawer and shelf
  • Inside wardrobes and fitted storage
  • Fridge, freezer and microwave interiors
  • Toilets, baths, showers and basins, scrubbed and descaled
  • Light switches, door handles and sockets
  • Floors throughout, including under radiators

If the previous occupant’s oven needs attention, add it to the quote now. It’s much nicer to cook your first meal in a clean oven.

Extras We Quote Separately

These tasks need extra time, equipment or drying, so they aren’t part of a routine visit. Ask for them when you request a quote.

  • Oven interior cleaning, including racks and glass door panels
  • Carpet extraction and upholstery cleaning (allow drying time before moving furniture back or walking on carpets in outdoor shoes)
  • Mattress cleaning
  • External window cleaning
  • High-level work, such as tall ceilings, stairwell windows and light fittings out of safe reach
  • Balconies, patios and outbuildings
  • Inside a full fridge-freezer or a well-stocked larder

A few minutes of preparation means more of the booked time goes on cleaning.

  1. Clear surfaces. We’ll clean around ornaments, but cleared worktops get a far better wipe.
  2. Empty cupboards for a deep or tenancy clean. We can’t clean inside a cupboard full of tins.
  3. Defrost the freezer the day before if it’s part of the job.
  4. Tell us about delicate surfaces. Marble, natural stone, unsealed wood, brass taps and specialist floors may need particular products. Eco-friendly products are available on request.
  5. Mention pets and allergies. We’ll plan around them and keep doors closed if needed.
  6. Sort access. Let us know about keys, alarm codes, parking and whether a neighbour or agent is holding keys. We agree all of this before the visit.
  7. Check the water and power are on. It sounds obvious, but in empty rentals it’s sometimes off.

How We Check the Work Before We Leave

At the end of each clean, we go back through the agreed checklist room by room. If something in scope has been missed, get in touch promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how re-cleans work and how soon to report any issue when you book.

Questions About Our Cleaning Checklists

Can I change the checklist for my home? Yes. Every list is agreed before we start. Swap tasks, add priorities or tell us what to skip.

Do you bring your own products and equipment? Yes, unless we’ve agreed otherwise. Tell us if you’d rather we used your products on certain surfaces.

Will a regular clean cover the oven? The outside, yes. Oven interiors are a separate extra because they take time and specialist products.

Can you work from my agent’s checklist? Please send it. We’ll match our room-by-room list to it and flag anything that falls outside cleaning, such as repairs.
