Eco friendly cleaning in Enfield – Non-toxic, low-waste - Cleaning Enfield

Eco Friendly Cleaning in Enfield (EN)

Our eco friendly cleaning in Enfield is for homes and workplaces that need to be properly clean without harsh sprays, heavy fragrance or a bin full of used wipes. Your toddler might crawl on the kitchen floor, your dog might lick the skirting boards, bleach might set off someone’s asthma, or your office might want its cleaning to fit a sustainability policy. We work across EN using plant-based and fragrance-free products, washable microfibre cloths and steam on surfaces that can take it.

Call us or send a few details and photos, and we’ll come back with a free, no-obligation quote.

Which green cleaning products do we use?

We mainly use plant-based, biodegradable cleaners and a small number of simple ingredients that do the job without strong solvents. You’ll know what’s going on your surfaces because we’ll tell you what’s in the bottle before we start.

  • Plant-based multi-surface cleaner for worktops, sealed tables, door handles, light switches and skirting boards.
  • Citric acid descaler for limescale on taps, shower screens and kettle bases. Enfield’s hard water makes this one of our most-used products.
  • Bicarbonate of soda paste for scrubbing hob rings, stained sinks and grout without scratching.
  • Fragrance-free washing-up liquid, diluted, for delicate surfaces and anything that touches food.
  • Steam for sealed hard floors, tile grout and the seals around toilet bases, with heat doing most of the work.
  • Refillable concentrates that we dilute on site, so we’re not using a fresh plastic bottle on every visit.

We don’t rely on bleach, ammonia-based glass sprays, aerosol polish or strongly scented “fresh linen” products. If you’d like us to use your own eco products, that’s fine. We’ll check they suit the surfaces first.

What an eco clean covers in each room

The checklist is the same as a standard clean. Only the products and methods change. We agree the rooms and tasks with you first, so a routine visit doesn’t turn into an unplanned deep clean.

Kitchen

  • Worktops, splashbacks and cupboard fronts wiped, with greasy handles degreased
  • Hob cleaned and the outside of the oven, microwave and fridge wiped
  • Sink and taps descaled and polished
  • Floors vacuumed and mopped, including under the kickboards we can reach

Bathrooms

  • Limescale removed from shower screens, taps and showerheads
  • Toilet cleaned inside and out, including the base and hinges
  • Bath, basin and tiles scrubbed, with the mirror polished streak-free using water and microfibre
  • Separate colour-coded cloths for bathrooms, so nothing crosses into the kitchen

Living areas and bedrooms

  • Dusting with damp microfibre, which traps dust instead of pushing it into the air
  • Skirting boards, window sills, door frames and switches
  • Vacuuming with a filtered machine, plus mopping hard floors
  • Beds made or linen changed if you leave fresh sets out

Offices and shops

  • Desks, keyboards, phones and shared surfaces wiped
  • Kitchenette, kettle and fridge handles cleaned
  • Washrooms descaled and restocked from your supplies
  • Glass doors and partitions cleared of fingerprints

Many customers book this as part of our regular domestic cleaning, with eco products as the standard rather than an add-on.

What green products can and can’t do

Green products handle almost everything in a lived-in home. A few jobs need a different plan, and we’ll tell you honestly when that’s the case.

  • Baked-on oven grease usually needs a dedicated oven clean with longer dwell times. We can use lower-fume products, but it’s quoted separately.
  • Heavy mould can be cleaned from sealed tile and silicone. If it keeps coming back because of a leak, rising damp or poor ventilation, cleaning won’t fix the cause.
  • Natural stone like marble, limestone and travertine is damaged by acids, and that includes vinegar and citric acid. We use pH-neutral products on stone.
  • Unsealed wood, waxed surfaces and older lacquer need minimal moisture and no steam.
  • Hazardous materials such as suspected asbestos, biohazards or chemical spills are specialist work and beyond what a cleaning visit should cover.

We call our products “lower-toxicity”. Nothing is completely harmless in every situation, so we still store products safely and keep them away from pets and children while we work.

Is eco cleaning a good choice for allergies?

Often, yes. Fragrance-free products and damp dusting reduce many of the irritants people react to. We vacuum with filtered equipment, wipe rather than spray near soft furnishings, and air rooms afterwards. Cleaning can lower dust and pet hair in a room, but it can’t make a home allergen-free, so if anyone has a specific sensitivity, tell us what it is before the visit and we’ll check our product list against it.

How booking works

  1. Tell us about the property. Rooms, condition, pets, allergies, the products you want us to avoid and any delicate surfaces. Photos help for one-off jobs.
  2. We agree the checklist and quote. You’ll see the tasks, products and price before anything is booked. Larger offices may need a quick walkthrough.
  3. We arrange access. Key safe, neighbour, concierge or you at home. We agree arrival times and alarm details in advance.
  4. We clean. We bring our own refillable products, microfibre and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise.
  5. We check our work against the list. If something we agreed to has been missed, let us know promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how that works when you book.

All you need to do is clear the clutter off surfaces you want wiped and put away anything fragile or valuable.

What changes the price of an eco clean

The price is agreed upfront and depends on:

  • Property size and number of bathrooms
  • Current condition, since a first visit usually takes longer than maintenance cleans
  • The task list and any extras such as inside the fridge or interior windows
  • How often you book, weekly, fortnightly or one-off
  • Specialist methods like steam or stone-safe products
  • Access, parking and stairs, which matter in flats and above-shop units

Eco products rarely add much to the cost on their own. See our cleaning pricing guide for how quotes are put together.

Eco cleaning in homes and offices

Homes in Enfield range from 1930s semis around Bush Hill Park to newer flats near Enfield Town and Ponders End, and each one needs a slightly different approach. Older houses often have original tiles and floorboards that need gentle products. Newer builds tend to have gloss kitchens that streak if they’re over-wetted.

At home: we can work around pets, keep a door closed for a nervous cat and leave floors to dry before dogs come back in. Steam-cleaned floors dry quickly, which helps when there are children about.

At work: many Enfield businesses ask for green cleaning to support their own environmental targets. We can schedule visits before opening or after close, use your recycling streams properly and keep a record of the products we use for your files. Our office cleaning service runs on the same eco basis if you want it to.

How we keep it safe and effective

  • We test patches first on anything unfamiliar, such as painted cabinets, stone and older wood.
  • We follow the dilution rates. More product doesn’t mean cleaner, and it leaves residue that attracts dirt.
  • We use dwell time. Even mild cleaners need a minute or two on a surface to break down grease or scale.
  • We keep cloths colour-coded, then wash them hot between jobs rather than throwing them away.
  • We rinse food surfaces so worktops and highchair trays are ready to use straight away.
  • We never mix products. Even natural ones can react, and vinegar with bicarbonate just cancels both out.

What customers say

“My daughter has eczema and I’d stopped using most sprays at home. They went through what they’d use before the first visit and swapped the floor cleaner for an unscented one. The bathroom has never been this free of limescale.” Hannah R., Bush Hill Park, eco domestic cleaning

“We wanted the office cleaning to line up with our green policy. They gave us a product list for our file and work after we close on Fridays.” Daniel O., Enfield Town, eco office cleaning

“Two dogs, wooden floors. The floors were dry by the time I got home and there was no strong chemical smell, which was the point.” Joanne T., Gordon Hill, fortnightly eco clean

“I left keys with my neighbour. They texted when they’d finished. Kitchen tiles came up well with no bleach.” Mehmet K., Enfield Highway, one-off eco clean

Eco cleaning FAQs

Do green products clean as well as conventional ones? Yes, for everyday cleaning. Grease, limescale and grime respond well to the right product, dwell time and microfibre. Heavy oven build-up is the main exception and is quoted separately.

Do you bring your own eco products? Yes. We bring refillable products and washable cloths as standard. Tell us if you’d prefer we use yours.

Is non-toxic cleaning safe around pets and babies? Usually, yes, once surfaces are dry. We use lower-toxicity, fragrance-free products, keep bottles out of reach and rinse food and play surfaces.

Can you use vinegar everywhere? No. Vinegar and citric acid etch marble, limestone and some grout, so we use pH-neutral cleaners on stone.

Do you use reusable cloths and low-waste methods? Yes. We use microfibre that’s washed between jobs, concentrates diluted on site, and no disposable wipes.

Can you do eco cleaning across EN postcodes? Yes. We cover homes and businesses across EN, subject to availability for your preferred day.

Will the house smell of anything afterwards? Barely. Most of our products are unscented, so rooms smell clean and fresh rather than perfumed.
