Oven cleaning service in Enfield – non-caustic degreasing - Cleaning Enfield

Oven Cleaning Service in Enfield (EN)

Our oven cleaning service in Enfield is for anyone who opens the oven door to smoke, smells or a glass panel you can’t see through any more. We take the racks out, strip the door down where the design allows, and degrease the inside properly. We cover homes and lettings across EN, and you can carry on cooking the same day once everything’s back together.

Send us the make and type of your oven, or a quick photo, and we’ll come back with a free quote. Call 020 4634 5302 or email us.

What we clean inside the oven

A proper oven clean means taking the oven apart where it’s safe to, not just wiping the parts you can see. On a standard visit we:

  • Remove the shelves, racks, side runners and grill pan, then soak them in a non-caustic degreasing solution
  • Clean the oven cavity: base, sides, roof and back panel, including baked-on fat in the corners
  • Take off the fan cover where accessible and clean behind it, where grease often builds up unnoticed
  • Separate the door glass on models designed for it and clean between the panes, where streaks and drips collect
  • Wipe the door seals gently by hand. We don’t soak or scrub them, because they perish and stop sealing
  • Clean the outer door, handle, control panel and knobs
  • Clean the grill compartment and the storage drawer underneath

The racks and trays usually take the longest. Carbonised fat on a roasting tray needs time in the solution before it’ll shift, so we start them soaking first and work on the cavity while they do.

Single, double and range ovens

We do single built-in ovens, double ovens, freestanding cookers with a top grill, and range cookers with several cavities. A double oven is effectively two jobs, and a range has more glass, more runners and more trays, so tell us which you’ve got when you ask for a quote.

Hob and extractor cleaning in Enfield

Most people add the hob, and plenty add the extractor. They’re quoted as part of the same visit:

  • Gas hobs: pan supports and burner caps soaked and degreased, burner surrounds cleaned, and spill trays cleared without forcing the ignition parts
  • Ceramic and induction hobs: burnt-on residue lifted with a blade scraper held flat, then cleaned with a product made for glass-ceramic
  • Extractor hoods: canopy and underside degreased, metal mesh filters soaked to release the trapped fat, and the light cover wiped

Charcoal filters in recirculating hoods can’t be cleaned. They need replacing, and we’ll tell you if yours look overdue.

What isn’t an oven-cleaning job

Cleaning removes grease and carbon. It can’t fix wear or faults, so it helps to know the limits before we arrive:

  • Damaged enamel: chips, bubbling and dull patches where harsh products have been used before won’t come back to a shine
  • Etched or scratched glass: cloudy marks in the glass, rather than on it, are permanent
  • Worn catalytic liners: these self-cleaning panels lose their coating over time. We clean them carefully, because scrubbing or caustic products ruin them, but a tired liner needs replacing
  • Faults and gas issues: failed elements, a fan that won’t spin, broken hinges or a smell of gas need an engineer. If you smell gas, turn the supply off and call the gas emergency line before booking anything
  • Microwaves and integrated grills: happy to include them, but agree them in the quote so we allow the time

How long does oven cleaning take?

Usually a couple of hours for a single oven in average condition. A double oven, a range cooker or an oven that hasn’t been touched in years can take most of a morning, and adding the hob and extractor adds more time again. We’ll give you a realistic estimate once we’ve seen photos.

How booking an oven clean works

  1. Tell us what you’ve got. Make, single or double, built-in or freestanding, plus the hob and extractor if you want those done. A photo of the inside with the door open helps a lot.
  2. We agree the quote. You’ll know the scope and price upfront before anyone arrives.
  3. Sort access. We arrange arrival times and keys in advance. If you’re out at work, a key with a neighbour or in a lockbox is fine, as long as we’ve agreed it.
  4. We clean. We lay protective mats on the floor and worktop, bring all the products and tools, and work in your kitchen without turning it upside down.
  5. We check it with you. We reassemble everything, check it against the agreed tasks and, if you’re home, show you the finished oven. If something in scope has been missed, let us know promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right.

What you need to do beforehand

Not much. Please:

  • Don’t use the oven for a few hours before we arrive. It has to be completely cool before we start
  • Empty anything stored inside the oven or the drawer underneath
  • Clear the hob and the worktop next to it, so we have room for trays

We handle the rest, including taking away the dirty solution.

What changes the price of an oven clean

Every quote is based on the actual job:

  • Oven type and size: single, double, range or a cooker with a separate grill
  • Condition: light splashes clean much faster than years of carbon
  • What’s included: hob, extractor, microwave or extra trays
  • Combined jobs: adding the oven to a wider clean of the kitchen or the whole property
  • Access and parking: if you’re in a controlled parking zone, let us know whether a visitor permit is available

You’ll find more on how we put quotes together on our pricing page. We won’t guess at a price before we know what we’re cleaning.

Combining an oven clean with a kitchen clean

The oven is often the worst bit of a kitchen, but rarely the only bit. If the cupboard fronts are sticky, the tiles behind the hob are spotted with fat or the extractor is dripping, a full kitchen clean done at the same visit makes more sense than two separate bookings. Cupboard interiors need emptying first, so tell us in advance if you want them included.

For landlords and tenants across Enfield, the oven is one of the first things an inventory clerk opens. We regularly fit oven cleaning into an end of tenancy clean, working to the inventory or agent’s checklist. A clean oven helps at check-out, but we can’t guarantee an inventory pass or a deposit return, and we can’t repair damage that’s already there.

Non-caustic products and doing the job safely

We use non-caustic degreasers as standard and choose the product to suit the surface. Enamel, stainless steel, glass, ceramic and catalytic panels all react differently, so one product sprayed on everything isn’t good enough.

  • We follow each product’s dilution and contact time instead of leaving it on and hoping
  • Self-cleaning catalytic liners get water and a soft cloth only
  • Pyrolytic ovens are cleaned without abrasives on the enamel, because scratches stop the self-clean cycle working properly
  • We test on a hidden area first if a stainless finish or a coloured enamel looks vulnerable
  • Everything is rinsed off afterwards, so no residue is left to heat up when you next cook

If you’d rather we used eco-friendly products, say so when you book. We’ll check they’ll cope with the level of grease and suit your oven’s surfaces before agreeing.

What our customers say

“Our double oven hadn’t been cleaned since we moved in. They had the glass out of both doors and the inside of the top oven was grey again, not black. Took a while but worth it.” Daniel R., Bush Hill Park, oven cleaning

“I was at work so left the key with my neighbour. Came home to a clean hob, a gleaming extractor and the trays all back in place. They’d even put the oven gloves back on the hook.” Aisha K., Enfield Lock, oven, hob and extractor cleaning

“Booked the oven alongside the end of tenancy clean before our check-out. The agent’s report said nothing at all about the kitchen, which was a first for us.” Tom W., Ponders End, end of tenancy and oven cleaning

“Very careful with the catalytic panels. The last company scrubbed ours and ruined them.” Margaret H., Forty Hill, oven cleaning

Oven cleaning FAQs

Do I need to be in during the clean?

No. Plenty of customers across EN leave a key with a neighbour or in a lockbox. We agree access in advance and lock up as arranged.

Can I use the oven straight afterwards?

Yes, once everything’s back in and the oven’s dry. We rinse off all the products, so there’s no chemical smell when you heat it up. A faint smell the first time can come from residue in places we couldn’t reach without dismantling the appliance.

Do you clean oven trays and racks?

Yes. Shelves, racks, runners, grill pans and the trays that came with the oven are all included. If you want extra roasting tins or baking trays done, mention them so we allow time.

Are your products caustic?

No. We use non-caustic degreasers and match them to each surface. Let us know about allergies or sensitivities before the visit.

Can you remove every mark?

Usually most of them, but not always all. Carbon that’s been baked on for years can leave staining, and damaged enamel or etched glass won’t clean away. We’ll be honest about what’s likely when we see the photos.

Do you clean AGA or range cookers?

We clean range cookers regularly. For heat-storage cookers like an AGA, ask first, because they need to be turned off and fully cooled well before we arrive.

Is oven cleaning included in regular cleaning?

No. Oven interiors aren’t part of a routine visit. We can add one to a regular clean or a one-off clean as an agreed extra.
