About Our Cleaning Company in Enfield: How Cleaning Enfield Works
Cleaning Enfield is a local cleaning company for homes, rentals and workplaces across Enfield and the wider EN area. This page explains how we vet our cleaners, what they use, how we check the work, and what you can expect from the first phone call to the end of the visit. If you’re deciding who to let into your home or business, these are the things worth knowing first.
We clean family houses in Bush Hill Park, flats in Enfield Town, rentals between tenants in Ponders End and Enfield Highway, and offices and units out towards Brimsdown. Each job is different, so we don’t use the same cleaning plan for all of them.
What do we actually agree before a clean?
We agree the scope, the price and any extras before anyone starts work. Most problems with cleaning companies come from vague expectations. One person means “a deep clean” and the other hears “a good tidy.”
So before we quote, we ask about:
- The property: number of bedrooms and bathrooms, flooring types, stairs, and whether there’s a garden room or conservatory to include.
- The condition: a lived-in home that’s had a busy month is a different job from a flat with grease built up over years behind the hob.
- The purpose: regular upkeep, a one-off reset, an end-of-tenancy clean against an inventory, or renovation dust.
- The extras: oven interiors, inside the fridge, carpets, internal windows, high-level dusting. These are agreed separately so nobody assumes they’re included.
- Access and timing: keys, alarm codes, parking, and any times the cleaner should avoid, like school runs or shop opening hours.
Photos help a lot with one-off jobs. For commercial premises we may suggest a walkthrough so we can see the floor area, the kitchenette and the washrooms ourselves.
Our quotes are free and there’s no obligation to book. The price is set before the visit and is based on size, condition, tasks, frequency and access. You won’t get a surprise figure at the end. You can send us the details for a quote whenever suits you.
How we vet and prepare our cleaners
Every cleaner we send is vetted and insured before they’re given a job. Being trusted with someone’s keys, their children’s bedrooms or a client’s reception area is a responsibility, and we treat it that way.
Vetting is where it starts. Before their first visit we also brief cleaners on:
- Working to the agreed checklist, room by room, so the priorities you’ve set are the ones that get done
- Product use and surface care, including what not to put on natural stone, unsealed wood, brushed steel or older enamel baths
- Property care, such as moving furniture carefully, protecting floors, and asking before shifting ornaments or paperwork
- Access and key handling, including locking up properly, setting alarms and returning keys the way we’ve agreed
If you’d like to know how our insurance applies to your job, our insurance and vetting page explains it and tells you how to request the details.
Our cleaning standards in Enfield: what “done properly” means
A clean is done properly when the agreed tasks are finished to a standard you’d notice. A quick wipe over the obvious surfaces isn’t enough. In practice that means paying attention to the places that show a rushed job:
- Limescale. Water across Enfield and Hertfordshire is hard. Shower screens, tap bases and the plughole rim scale up quickly, and a general bathroom spray won’t shift build-up that’s been left for weeks. We use the right descaler for the surface and give it time to work.
- Kitchen grease. Extractor filters, cupboard door tops and the strip of wall behind the hob collect sticky grease that ordinary wiping smears around. These get a degreaser and a second pass.
- Dust that settles again. We dust from high to low, so we’re not knocking dust from the top of the wardrobe onto a floor we’ve just vacuumed.
- Edges and corners. Skirting boards, the gap beside the cooker and the floor under the bed are where a hurried clean shows up first.
On regular visits we follow a priorities list we agree with you. If there’s only time for so much, you decide what comes first, whether that’s the kitchen and bathrooms or the floors because the dog sheds. Deep cleans, oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows aren’t automatically part of a routine visit. We’ll quote for them separately. You can see how routine, deep and tenancy cleans differ on our room-by-room cleaning checklist.
Our approach to quality control
Each visit finishes with a check against the agreed tasks before the cleaner leaves. They go back through the list room by room, looking at the things that are easy to miss: the mirror at an angle, the inside of the microwave door, crumbs left under the kitchen table.
If you find something in the agreed scope that’s been missed, tell us promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm any re-clean arrangement and the reporting window when you book, so you know where you stand before the visit.
We’re clear about what cleaning can and can’t do. Cleaning removes dirt, grease, scale and dust. It can’t repair a scorched worktop, worn carpet pile or a hairline crack in a bath. For end-of-tenancy work we clean to a checklist based on the inventory or the agent’s requirements. No cleaner can honestly promise you’ll get your deposit back or pass an inventory check, so we don’t.
Equipment and products we use
Our cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. That usually covers vacuums, microfibre cloths colour-coded so the toilet cloth never goes near the kitchen, mops, descalers, degreasers and surface-appropriate cleaners.
Please tell us before the visit if:
- You have delicate materials like marble, limestone, oiled oak or antique furniture
- There are pets in the house, or anything they shouldn’t be exposed to while we work
- Anyone at home has allergies or sensitivities to particular products or fragrances
- You have preferred products you’d like us to use instead of ours
For carpet cleaning, we’ll talk you through drying time before we book, so you’re not stuck with a damp hallway on the day you’ve got guests coming.
Health and safety on every job
Safe working protects you, your home and our cleaners. In practice we:
- Keep products in their original labelled containers and never mix chemicals, especially bleach-based and acidic cleaners
- Ventilate bathrooms and kitchens while stronger products are in use
- Keep products and equipment out of reach of children and pets during the visit
- Use stable steps for reachable heights rather than standing on chairs, and agree any high-level work in advance
- Put out warning signs on wet floors in offices, shops and communal hallways
On commercial jobs we fit cleaning around your opening hours where we can, so cleaning isn’t happening near customers or staff. If you’d like us to follow a particular site induction or safety procedure, tell us and we’ll follow it.
Sustainability and our environmental approach
Eco-friendly products are available on request. If you choose them, we check each one is suitable for the surface before using it. Some plant-based cleaners are excellent on worktops and glass, but limescale and baked-on oven grease may still need something stronger. We’ll explain that rather than leave a job half done.
Beyond the products, we keep waste down with concentrated cleaners and reusable microfibre cloths that go in the wash instead of the bin. We also only use as much product as the job needs. If you’d like your whole visit done with greener methods, take a look at our eco cleaning service.
Cleaning services across EN postcodes
We’re based around Enfield and work across the wider EN area. That includes Enfield Town, Bush Hill Park, Gordon Hill, Enfield Chase, Ponders End, Enfield Highway, Enfield Lock and Brimsdown, and further out depending on the job and the schedule. Send us your postcode and we’ll confirm whether we can cover it before you commit to anything.
Some of the jobs we’re asked for most:
- Weekly or fortnightly cleans for busy households
- End-of-tenancy cleans before a check-out inspection
- Deep cleans after a long winter or before a family visit
- Clearing up dust after building work, where fine plaster dust settles on every ledge and needs more than one pass
- Office, shop and communal area cleaning, booked around opening hours
Short-notice slots depend on what’s available. Booking ahead gives you the best choice of dates.
What customers say
“We’d left the bathroom too long and the shower screen was cloudy with scale. It’s clear again, and the cleaner talked me through what to use to stop it coming back. They also asked before moving anything on my dressing table, which I appreciated.”
Helen T., Bush Hill Park · Deep cleaning
“Arranged everything by email because I’d already moved out. Keys were left with the neighbour as agreed and the oven was done as part of the agreed list. The agent only flagged a mark on the carpet that was there when I moved in.”
Marcus O., Enfield Highway · End of tenancy cleaning
“They come in after we close so the shop floor’s done before the morning. They’re reliable and haven’t missed anything.”
Deniz A., Enfield Town · Retail cleaning
